Feast at Saint Symeon Monastery

Local feast at Saint Symeon Monastery, near the city of Missolonghi, western Greece. Celebrations last for two days and two nights. On the first day, there is the brilliant parade in the city center with horsebacks and men and women dressed in traditional costumes. Then a dinner feast follows with traditional music, singing and dancing in the courtyard of the monastery. The next day, there is the holy liturgy in the church and the priest is committing group baptisms. In the afternoon, the local feast starts again, wilder and frantic now, holding until dawn.This is the second time of the year that the feast takes place. At the day of the Holy Spirit celebration, in Orthodox religion. In addition, there is the winter festival.
