| Caption | Cat in front of brothel. KM Protypi Geitonia, Society for the environment and cultural heritage, KIPOKA and the City of Athens organised an event in Iasonos str in the area of Metaxourgeio. The actions included was cleaning of the streets, painting of flower beds, replacements of public lighting and a concert with singer Sugahspank and the band Swing Shoes. A small tension was created when the Mayor of Athens, Giorgos Kaminis, visited the area and citizens complained for the overall degradation. Iasonos str is considered to be one of the worst streets in Athens, mainly due to the high concentration of brothels and drug addicts. Athens, Greece, Jan 2014 |
